Our Story

Life is very much a family affair here at Plas Robin, where with our 3 children, Connor, Cameron and Imogen we have lived since we (Carol and David) married in 1995. David’s family have farmed here since the early 1900s and so, it was with great pride that we launched our new venture in 2020, creating ‘Plas Robin Rural Retreats’. We feel extremely privileged and proud to host our guests in this special place and already, so many have become great friends too!

Working with local builders and craftsmen to create these wonderful Retreats, using sustainably sourced materials such as reclaimed Welsh slate, Herefordshire stone and locally grown Cedar from a nearby Estate has created homes which we hope will be enjoyed by generations to come and will also become part of your family’s story.

Our luxury retreats are situated on beautiful Welsh farmland owned and worked on by the Parry family since the early 1900s.

Since marrying in 1995, we, Carol and David, have lived on the land, creating a family haven and the perfect place to raise our 3 children, Connor, Cameron and Imogen.

Driven by our desire to share this paradise with others, we collaborated with the renowned Scottish architect, Donald MacInnes, to design the luxury accommodations now lovingly known as ‘Plas Robin Rural Retreats’.

Set amidst a secluded 35-acre estate, Plas Robin offers a perfect blend of privacy and natural beauty. After waking up to our breathtaking views, guests are welcome to collect fresh eggs from our hens to enjoy a true farm-to-table breakfast experience on your private patio.

For a more relaxing retreat, without the need for travel, guests are welcome to explore the grounds at their leisure.

From our natural wildflower meadows which have purposefully been untouched to create sustainable eco-systems for local wildlife, to greeting our friendly herd of gentle alpacas.

Even to the smallest touches of fresh flowers, lovely welcome hamper and quality of outdoor seating. Carol and David were very welcoming, once we’d settled in, everything was explained…use of the hot tub & sauna etc. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to anyone. “

“ Beautiful property in a beautiful location. Plas Robin was straightforward to find – the postcode takes you directly there which is always a comfort after a long drive. Ty Hiraeth was better than our expectations (which were already high!), the views were magnificent and the property was spacious and spotless on arrival.

“ Wow wow wow, Shepherd’s Rest was the perfect place to relax and unwind, everything was amazing, hosts David and Carol where so welcoming and lovely and nothing was too much trouble, Carol contacted me personally couple of weeks before hand to answer a query I had and was so helpful and that continued when we had any queries or questions once we arrived.

The property is gorgeous with everything you could need the and the hot tub, for us, with a teenager in tow was great fun, so relaxing and all our evenings centred around it. We are already trying to sort out a return visit later this year. Thanks for a much needed relaxing break! “

The huge main bedroom downstairs is impressive as the windows open up onto a terrace with views over the hills and valleys. And being dog-friendly is such an added bonus. Carol and David couldn’t do enough to make us feel relaxed and at home. What a great week, we should have stayed longer! “
